About the Artist  - Gisele Landriault

I grew up in Northern Ontario, Canada, amid the lakes and wilderness of the Canadian shield.  While my professional career took me away from those places, I think my art reflects that upbringing - it’s uncomplicated with a focus on the natural world around us. 

I have travelled a great deal and some of the photographs featured in this first collection of greeting cards were taken in far way places but some of my favourite images come from much closer to home.  For instance, photographing the beautiful cosmos from my garden this past summer gave me enormous pleasure.  

Sometimes, I find magic in abandoned places too. So, while not from the wild, I enjoy making these images and will include some in this and future collections of cards.

Finally, a quick word about philanthropy.  It’s important to give back if you can, so I’ve identified the Nature Conservancy of Canada as the beneficiary of a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these cards. I admire the work they do and I am honoured to be able to support them this way.
